Ranaksh Rana

Ranaksh Rana is an actor who has made a mark with his work in ‘Ballia Kaand’ and the multilingual contemporary mytho-sports drama ‘The Mentor’. He says that he is passionate about cinema and wants to explore every aspect of it. He also shares how some films have inspired him in his life and career.

Ranaksh Rana says that he started his acting career in theatre and then moved to film. He says that acting was his source of inspiration and joy. He says, “I love the film Mother India. Also, Milkha Singh, made me realise that there’s no shortcut to hard work. As a kid, I have worked hard, starting from being on a farm to selling for sustenance in Bombay to being a banker, but this film made me realise it is real, what my life has been and very similar to the story of this film.”

Ranaksh Rana says that he wants to learn and grow as an actor and a filmmaker. He says that he developed an interest in filmmaking during the shoot of his upcoming first feature film The Mentor. He says, “I saw the process and how each one played an important role, how all of us were involved in the process. I played a Punjabi character. So, turning the Hindi dialogues into Punjabi was an interesting exercise.”

Ranaksh Rana says that he believes in surprising himself and satisfying his expectations as an actor. He says, “Cinema is cinema, all platforms are equally enticing. They have unique possibilities. I feel people will appreciate it if you do a good job. The trick is to satisfy yourself and match your self expectations. If you are highly passionate, don’t do it for external validation. It will automatically come.”
