The entertainment industry is often seen as glamorous, but behind the scenes, actors face intense challenges. Dipshikkha Nagppal, who plays Devi Sahay in Ishq Jabariya on Sun Neo, sheds light on the hard work and dedication that go into her craft.
The Reality Behind the Glamour
While many admire the red carpet moments, Nagppal highlights the strenuous reality of TV acting. “People see the glamour but not the grind. In TV, we work 12 to 14 hours a day, often in remote locations. After hours of shooting, we must still look fresh for the screen,” she says. There’s also the constant pressure of meeting deadlines, with episodes needing to air on time.
Tough Conditions on Set
Nagppal also recalled her experience shooting Koyla in the coal mines. “There was no phone network and basic amenities were lacking. The team would wake up at 4 AM, travel to remote locations, and work in extreme conditions. Shah Rukh Khan would even sleep on a coal-extracting machine with just a pillow. It was grueling, almost like being paid laborers.”
