Love can push people to the limits, but what happens when that love is tested in the most extreme ways? Novocaine combines thrilling action with a heart-pounding love story, following Nate, who uses his rare condition—an inability to feel pain—to rescue the woman he loves.

Jack Quaid’s Unique Challenge

Jack Quaid, known for his role in The Boys, plays Nate, a character who can’t feel pain. Quaid faced the unique challenge of performing intense action scenes without showing any sign of injury. He shared his experience:

“The stunt scenes were so fun, but also a lot of hard work with training and rehearsing. It was a challenge because my natural instinct was to wince or react to the pain—something I’ve done in every other fight scene. But for Nate, we had to fight that instinct and figure out how he would fight, given that he’s not a trained fighter.”

Action Scenes and Stunt Team Praise

Quaid credited the film’s stunt team for their amazing work. “Shout out to Stanny and the entire stunt team. They did an incredible job. My favorite scenes were the kitchen fight and one in a rundown house. Nate’s condition is simple: he can’t feel pain—but that makes for a unique challenge,” he said.

Directed by Dan Berk and Robert Olsen
