Jim Sarbh Learns Telugu for ‘Kuberaa’: “I Didn’t Want to Say a Line Without Knowing What Every Word Meant”.

Jim Sarbh’s approach to linguistic preparation, including how Jim Sarbh learns Telugu for ‘Kuberaa’, is discussed in the actor’s insights about his role in Sekhar Kammula’s multilingual film.

Jim Sarbh’s Push for Authenticity

During the Kuberaa song launch in Mumbai, actor Jim Sarbh spoke about learning Telugu from zero for his performance. Famous for his hardcore roles, Jim explained he couldn’t utter lines if he didn’t know what each word meant.

“I don’t know Telugu. It took time and effort to memorize lines. I didn’t want to utter a sentence without knowing the meaning of every word,” he said.

Telugu Sentence Structure Was A Challenge

Jim discussed the difficulty of adjusting to Telugu’s sentence structure.

“In English, you’d say, ‘How many are there?’ In Telugu, it would be ‘Many are there, how?’ Taking cues on where to put words was an effort,” he said.
