Josh Hubbard, a guard for the Mississippi State Bulldogs, had a record-setting game on February 18, 2026, when he scored a career-high 46 points and hit a program-record 10 three-pointers to help his team beat Auburn 91-85.
Hubbard scored 35 points before halftime, making 9 of 12 three-pointers and beating Auburn’s entire team score of 33 points. This gave the Bulldogs a 16-point lead. This broke the old record for Mississippi State’s most three-pointers in a single game, which was eight and had been done six times before. It was also his third straight game with 30 or more points.
The 6-foot junior also broke Bailey Howell’s 45-point record for points in an SEC game, which had stood since 1958. He started off with three straight threes in an early 21-6 run. Hubbard’s efficiency—10-of-17 overall shooting—showed how much he had improved as the team’s leading scorer.
Mississippi State held off Auburn’s late push, even though they lost an 18-point lead and the Tigers took the lead 64-63 with 8:50 left. This was because of Hubbard’s continued dominance. The Bulldogs broke a losing streak and moved up in the SEC standings before playing South Carolina.
