Kusha Kapila, Actor and Co-Producer, Stars in a Thoughtful Short Film, titled ‘Vyarth’
Mumbai, July 16, 2025: Kusha Kapila takes on a new role that marks a bold departure from the usual with Vyarth, a short film that redefines the rules of casting in the entertainment industry. Not only the lead actor, Kusha is also a co-producer of the venture, highlighting her transition from digital celebrity to serious filmmaker.
A Tale of Reality
Vyarth chronicles Bhumi, an underappreciated actress who is sick of being stereotyped. When she’s asked to play another “mother,” her aspirations are shattered—until a surprise comes along. Her younger roommate, Meenakshi, offers to take her through a rehearsal of the same audition, making Bhumi face reality, much like her struggle against feeling ‘Vyarth’.
Kusha on Her Journey
“This movie is a reflection of the struggle that many actors go through,” says Kusha. “As an actor, it’s about how to say a line. But as a producer, it’s about the larger picture—how everything comes together to make impact.”
She continues, “From creating humorous videos to performing and now producing, this is a natural transition.” It shows how the creative journey can resonate with themes in ‘Vyarth’.
Powerhouse Crew Behind the Camera
The movie is directed and co-produced by Pankaj Dayani (Newton), authored by Fahim Irshad, and cast by Romil Modi (Laapataa Ladies, All We Imagine as Light). Cinematographer Swapnil S. Sonawale (Monica O My Darling) reflects the film’s emotional mood with powerful visuals.
