Lily Collins, who is 36 years old and stars in Emily in Paris, got her original engagement ring back from her husband Charlie McDowell almost three years after it was stolen from a hotel spa locker in West Hollywood in May 2023. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is looking into the disappearance of a custom rose-cut diamond ring worth more than $10,000 and her wedding band. There was no forced entry. On March 5, 2026, Collins posted on Instagram Stories from J.O. Jewelers (also called Hakimian Imports Chicago Jewelers) in Chicago to share her happiness. She wrote that she was “still speechless it’s back on my finger” and thanked the family-owned store for their help.
Collins left her valuables in a locked locker at the Edition Hotel on Sunset Boulevard while she was at the spa. No suspects were found right away, but later a person of interest named Andreea Catalina Rosca was linked to other spa thefts. The ring has been missing ever since. Collins had been wearing a replacement ring in the meantime, so the recovery was especially meaningful for the couple, who got married in September 2021.
Collins showed off the sparkling oval-cut diamond in selfies from the jeweler, writing that she couldn’t believe she had it back after almost three years. She stressed how much having this back meant to them, pointing out how sentimental the ring was because McDowell proposed on a road trip in 2020. Fans celebrated the “miracle” reunion online, making the story famous in Hollywood.
