Melanie explains her role: “Usha is the eldest daughter-in-law in the Bundela family. She is a devoted wife and a loving mother. For Usha, it’s about fighting for her rights. When she married into the family, she expected to be handed the keys to the house—symbolizing respect and authority. But instead, she was treated unfairly, particularly by Jagdamba Devi.”
Seeking Respect from Her Children
Despite her sacrifices, Usha has never received the respect she deserves. “As the eldest daughter-in-law, Usha was always meant to be honored,” says Melanie. “Now, she wants that respect from her children. She wants them to value her opinions and listen to her.” As the series progresses, Usha’s character will undergo significant changes, with plenty of twists in her journey.
