Mumbai, India – Khauf star Monika Panwar was recently awarded the IMDb “Breakout Star” STARmeter Award. She earned a spot in IMDb’s Popular Indian Celebrities list twice, peaking at No. 2 just weeks ago.
In IMDb’s exclusive segment Burning Questions, Panwar opened up about her acting journey, a missed moment with Aamir Khan, and her intense filming experience on Khauf.
Aamir Khan’s Message: “I Thought It Was a Scam”
Panwar recalled the shock of receiving a text from Aamir Khan after her performance in Jamtara: Sabka Number Ayega.
“I thought it was fake. I even replied rudely,” she said. “But he messaged again, and I knew it was really him.”
Despite being free, she asked to speak the next day—something she now regrets.
“That was my biggest mistake,” she admitted. “I kept overthinking all night. If an actor like Aamir Khan wants to talk, you connect right away.”
Inside Khauf: Stunts, Sludge, and Silence
Talking about the climax of Khauf, Panwar shared how physically tough it was.
“There were stunts with a harness, and the sludge scene was exhausting. I just wanted to get through it.”
After intense scenes, she prefers isolation.
“I go silent. I avoid eye contact and don’t talk to anyone. It’s how I recharge for the next day.”
