In Netflix’s Jo Nesbø’s Detective Hole, anti-hero detective Harry Hole investigates a chilling serial killer mystery in the dark streets of Oslo over the course of nine episodes. The Devil’s Star is the fifth Harry Hole novel by Nesbø. The series promises a dark story of crime, lies, and personal demons. On March 26, 2026, Netflix will show the world premiere.
Tobias Santelmann plays the moody Harry Hole. The first look shows him in a messy, dark apartment surrounded by beer and whiskey bottles, which shows how intense the character is. Joel Kinnaman plays Tom Waaler, and Pia Tjelta plays Rakel Fauke, adding depth to this high-stakes mystery. Jo Nesbø, the author who came up with the story and wrote the screenplay, said that Santelmann’s performance was a thrilling new chapter for the famous detective.
The series is produced by Working Title and directed by Øystein Karlsen and others. It was filmed in 160 locations in Oslo and took 113 days to finish. Nesbø is the executive producer, along with Bevan Eric Fellner and Niclas Salomonsson. Expect a “genuinely dark and twisted adventure” from one of the best crime fiction writers of all time.
