The acclaimed actor shoots a film in his home state, marking a major personal and professional milestone.
A Dream Realized in Bihar
For Pankaj Tripathi, filming in Bihar has been a lifelong dream. After over 20 years in Hindi cinema, he is finally shooting in his home state — and it’s an emotional return.
The untitled film, a social drama, is directed by OMG 2 fame Amit Rai. Coincidentally, it’s also Rai’s first time shooting in Bihar, making the project personal for both.
Authentic Storytelling in the Heartland
Backed by the Bihar Film Niga, the film features a strong ensemble cast. Names include Pawan Malhotra, Rajesh Kumar, and several emerging talents from the local film circuit.
The 35-day shoot is happening entirely on real locations across Bihar, adding authenticity to the narrative.
Pankaj Tripathi Reflects on His Journey
Sharing his thoughts, Tripathi said:
“I began with street theatre in a small village in Bihar. Never imagined I’d return with a film crew. This is the first time I’m shooting here, and it feels like life has come full circle.”
He added:
“Hindi films rarely shoot in Bihar. The last one I remember was Manoj Bajpayee’s Shool in 2003. This experience is very special and long overdue.”
A Tribute to His Roots
Tripathi said working on a story set in Bihar feels magical and deeply personal.
“There’s an emotional connection to every scene and every location. Amit Rai and I understand the spirit of this land — and that will show on screen.”
Bihar as a Living Character
The film aims to highlight socially relevant themes through a human lens. Bihar isn’t just a location — it’s a character that drives the story.
This heartfelt project promises to be one of Tripathi’s most meaningful works yet.
