A Brief Summary of the Series Plot “Memory of a Killer” is about Angelo Ledda (Dempsey), a New York hitman who also sells photocopiers in Cooperstown and is a father. His two lives collide when he is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. The show, which is based on the Belgian movie “The Memory of a Killer” and its Liam Neeson remake “Memory,” first aired in January 2026 with episodes like “Pilot” and “Ferryman.” Threats against his pregnant daughter Maria make things even more emotional because his brother had the same fate.
Dempsey wanted to get back together with Eric Dane, who played Mark Sloan on the show. He cast Dane as Angelo’s brother before Dane died of ALS in February 2026. Dempsey shared tributes and talked about how quickly Dane’s health had gotten worse and how much they respected each other during their time on “Grey’s.” This is Dempsey’s first time back on TV since he left “Grey’s Anatomy” in 2015.
