Colour Yellow Productions’ Pulp Thriller Surges in Popularity; Prequel Success Drives Anticipation for Upcoming Projects

Colour Yellow Productions’ latest pulp thriller, Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba, is making waves in the OTT space. It has emerged as a fan favourite even in its second week of release. The film is the sequel to the much-acclaimed Haseen Dillruba, and it has pulled off some great numbers at its viewership. In its opening week, August 9-11, it clocked a viewership of 3.7 mn, and in its second week, August 12-18, strong 4.1 mn views. The surge catapulted it into the world’s top 10, achieving a world ranking of #3 and expanding its presence to 13 countries, including its newest market additions of Malaysia and Saudi Arabia.

The first Haseen Dillruba was Colour Yellow Productions’ maiden venture into the pulp thriller genre, which ended up as one of the most-viewed OTT films of 2021. The sequel features a star-studded cast, including Taapsee Pannu, Vikrant Massey, Sunny Kaushal, and Jimmy Sheirgill. The gripping plot and deep character development keep the audience engaged and interested.

Moving on, Colour Yellow Productions maintains its streak of spinning engaging stories with its future projects. One of these is Nakhrewaalii, slated for release on Valentine’s Day 2025. It marks the introduction of fresh talent in the form of Ansh Duggal and Pragati Srivastava and brings out the small-town stories from the Hindi heartland. On top of that, Aanand L Rai is all set to take the third inning with actor Dhanush on board for his film Tere Ishk Mein, which is said to be every bit an upgrade of their previous works including Raanjhanaa.
