The stars of Prathaon Ki Odhe Chunri: Beendani recently took a trip to Jaipur, and it sounds like they had an amazing time diving headfirst into Rajasthani culture! Gauri Shelgaonkar, Akash Jagga, and Monika Khanna explored the vibrant Pink City to get ready for their show, which premieres August 12th at 9 PM.
It wasn’t just sightseeing, though. The cast bonded over delicious local food and even met some real-life “Beendanis” (women who observe the tradition of chunri odhna). This trip really helped them connect with their characters on a much deeper level.
What’s the Show About?
Prathaon Ki Odhe Chunri: Beendani tells the story of Ghevar, a spirited young woman from a village who’s been raised by her brother and sister-in-law. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she finds herself connected to another world through a newborn. Get ready for a story about love, sacrifice, and the quiet strength of women living within tradition.
Gauri Shelgaonkar: “It Was a Life-Changing Experience”
Gauri, who plays Ghevar, was in Rajasthan for the very first time. She was deeply moved by the experience.
“Meeting real Beendanis was so powerful,” Gauri said. “Their courage really inspired me and I want to bring that honesty to my role.”
She described the visit as life-changing, adding so much more depth to her understanding of Ghevar.
Akash Jagga: A Trip Back Home
For Akash Jagga, who plays Kundan, the trip was extra special because Jaipur is his hometown!
“Being able to show my co-stars around my home was so nostalgic and heartwarming,” he shared.
Akash played the perfect host, taking the team to all his favorite local spots and treating them to a traditional Rajasthani thali.
Monika Khanna: Seeing Jaipur in a New Light
Monika, who plays Ramkudi, had been to Jaipur before, but this time was different.
“Exploring the city with Akash made it a completely new experience,” Monika explained. “I learned so much more about the culture and the way of life here, and that’s really helped me understand my character better.”
She found the visit both fun and incredibly insightful.
Celebrating the Women of Rajasthan
