Bengaluru, 03rd January 2025: Filmmaker Atlee and his wife Priya Atlee have ventured into the sports world by acquiring the Bengaluru franchise in the World Pickleball League (WPBL). The team will be named Bengaluru Jawans, marking their entry into the growing sport of pickleball.
WPBL Kicks Off with Global Talent
The inaugural season of the World Pickleball League will begin on January 24, 2025, with 48 players from India and around the world. Six teams, including Bengaluru Jawans, will compete in this high-energy tournament, co-founded by former Indian tennis stars Gaurav Natekar and Arati Ponnappa Natekar.

The Bengaluru Jawans will feature top players like Indian pickleball sensation Vrushali “Hammer” Thakare, alongside international stars Jack Foster, Katerina Stewart, Trang Hyunh McClain, Marcelo Jardim, Alejandra Bobaria, Felix Grunert, and Mauro Garcia.
