“When I met Anurag Kashyap sir on set, I was terrified. His presence was so powerful that everyone seemed nervous. But once I spoke with him, I realized he’s the sweetest, most innocent, and bravest director I’ve ever met. His sincerity and lessons have stayed with me in every role I take on.”

Puneet was also impressed by Kashyap’s relentless work ethic. “Whether on-screen or off, he gave his best in every moment, supporting his co-stars wholeheartedly. His dedication left me in awe,” Puneet recalled.

Puneet’s career wasn’t a smooth ride. He initially auditioned for Mirzapur Season 1 but didn’t make the cut. However, he got another chance in Mirzapur 2, though his scene was cut. Undeterred, Puneet auditioned for Mirzapur 3, landing a standout role in the iconic Chacha-Bhatija scene.
The Big Break: Playing the Antagonist in Thukra Ke Mera Pyar
Puneet’s breakthrough came with Thukra Ke Mera Pyar, where he was initially cast as the hero, Kuldeep. However, the producer called him to ask if he would consider playing the antagonist, Pushkar Chauhan.
“I was initially panicked but reminded myself that my dreams were bigger than my fears. The physical transformation was tough, but it paid off, and the role brought me immense recognition,” Puneet shared.
A Growing Career and Exciting Projects Ahead
Puneet’s talent has caught the attention of fans and critics alike. He’s starred in Thukra Ke Mera Pyar, Mirzapur Season 3, Garmi, Helmet, Asur 2, Brahmastra, and UP65, showcasing his versatile acting range.
Looking ahead, Puneet is excited about his upcoming project, Ghamasaan, directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia. “This is my second project with Tigmanshu sir as a parallel lead, and I’m beyond excited,” he said.
