In the latest episode of Main Dil Tum Dhadkan on Shemaroo Umang, the saying “The way to the heart is through the stomach” rings true. Vrinda (played by Radhika Muthukumar) uses her cooking skills to win the heart of a foreign businessman, helping her husband, Keshav (Zohaib), secure an important business deal. Despite not knowing the guest’s dislike for Indian food, Vrinda quickly adapts, turning her dish into a fusion creation that impresses him and saves the day.
Cooking as a Tool for Connection
Radhika shares her thoughts on the power of cooking, especially in her role as Vrinda. “From my first role to Vrinda, I’ve often played women whose cooking helps them connect with others. Cooking is such an essential part of many Indian women’s lives. Whether homemakers or professionals, feeding our loved ones is an expression of care. Despite my busy schedule, I always try to cook for the people I care about,” she says.
Vrinda: A Multitasking Woman
Radhika explains how Vrinda’s role goes beyond just cooking. “Vrinda is a woman of many layers. She pours her heart into every meal she makes for her son, Kanha. After marrying Keshav, she balances her responsibilities as a wife and mother while staying warm and dedicated. In a recent episode, when Vrinda learns her Indian food may not suit a foreign guest, she creatively adapts the dish. Her quick thinking helps her win the businessman’s favor and secure the contract for Keshav.”
Immersing in the Character
Radhika reveals how she connects deeply with Vrinda. “I really immerse myself in the character. Sometimes, I forget the cameras are rolling because I become so involved. It’s that ‘woman mode’—instinctively knowing what needs to be done.”
