Rajshri Productions is certainly one of the cornerstone production houses in Indian Cinema. Lately, it crossed another illustrious milestone—to complete 75 years of endeavour and journey in show business. Adding further feather to this moment was the accolade won by renowned director Sooraj R Barjatya. Barjatya was awarded the Best Director for the movie Uunchai at the 70th National Film Awards. In his gesture of gratitude and acceptance, Barjatya dedicated the accolade to Rajshri Productions and his family, dilating a lot of influence by the production house on his career.

Filmmaker Mahaveer Jain, a close friend, was a major contributor to the Uunchai project. Jain shared an emotional video from the film’s trailer launch. The heartfelt clip was later shared by trade analyst Taran Adarsh who lauded the members of the Barjatya family for their contributions towards the film industry. Adarsh’s caption underscored how the Barjatyas and Rajshri Productions have had a role in shaping Indian cinema.

Sooraj R Barjatya, after receiving the award, said, “`Uunchai’ was a special film, prepared in the 75th year of Rajshri Productions. I dedicate this award to all my elders in the family and to Rajshri Productions.”

And ahead of this, Mahaveer Jain is basking in the release of his just-released feature, Binny and Family, introducing Anjini Dhawan in a story-cut parallel of a silver screen. Binny and Family is a slice-of-life drama co-produced by Ektaa R Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms, Mahaveer Jain Films with Waveband Productions in association with Shashank Khaitan and Mrighdeep Lamba. It’s due for an August 30 release.

And this is not all. He is going to be involved in an international thriller with director Siddharth Anand, based on the life of humanitarian and spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. Moreover, he will be working with actor Akshay Kumar and the famous director of the Fukrey series, Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, for a new venture. This one is said to go on floors by the start of 2025.
Watch out for these space-grabbing movies in Indian cinema as Rajshri Productions pens the destiny of Indian cinema.
