Mumbai, August 23, 2024—On August 22, 2024, the much-discussed Netflix “Sector 36” global debut took the front stage at the magnificent Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. As the star of the movie Vikrant Massey attended the screening, the occasion was characterized by a lot of pomp and excitement. With the film’s pretty strong plot and superb performances that are quite near to home, Massey will leave viewers stunned as Prem Singh.
Under the direction of Aditya Nimbalkar, “Sector 36” is an intense criminal thriller from the stables of Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films and Jio Studios. Inspired by real-life incidents, the film chronicles the terrifying tale of children disappearing from a ghetto in Sector 36. Deepak Dobriyal’s steely-eyed officer essayed as the tension rises, pursues a clever serial murderer, played by Vikrant Massey relentlessly.
The crowd at the premiere listened with bated breath; some at the end were in tears and others were shocked. Thunderous applause broke out at the end of the evening to declare ‘Sector 36’ as the festival’s primary shining point.
Speaking at the festival, Vikrant Massey turned back at the difficult times he had gone through for his performance as Prem Singh and said, “This film stretched me to my limits, both intellectually and emotionally. It was difficult; although it didn’t call for any bodily change, I had to go far inside.”
He also discussed narrating tales like “Sector 36,” since realism in movies has expanded greatly throughout the previous ten years. “Cinema reflects society, and society reflects cinema,” he said. Websites like Netflix allow one to create global, not merely community-specific films. It is our responsibility as storytellers to make those tales alive.
“Sector 36” will premiere on September 13 just on Netflix. Don’t miss the suspenseful, mysterious, and strong performances.
