Ryan Lochte, a 12-time Olympic swimmer, has made a big change in his personal life by moving in with his girlfriend Molly Gillihan and her three kids. This happened only nine months after his ex-wife, Kayla Rae Reid, filed for divorce. The athlete posted pictures of their new home on Instagram with the caption “Home Sweet Home #moveinday.” This marked the start of a new chapter focused on family and staying sober. Lochte first talked about Gillihan in public in July 2025, just a few weeks after his divorce was final.
Lochte said that living together felt like “the right next step” for their growing blended family, which now includes his three kids—Caid, Liv, and Georgia—with Reid, as well as Gillihan’s three kids. He told People magazine that they needed a bigger space to create a “loving environment” for all six kids, which shows how close they already are. Gillihan is a teacher in Gainesville, Florida, where the couple met through their kids’ school.
Reid said on Instagram in March 2025 that he and his wife were getting a divorce after seven years of marriage. He said it was a hard decision that came after a lot of prayer and thought. Lochte has since worked on himself, going to rehab on his own, recommitting to his faith, and celebrating 54 days of sobriety by the end of 2025. He has custody of his kids half the time and says he never cheated on his wife.
