She recalled a memorable occasion at her house when Dilip Kumar visited, held her hand, and gently said, “My, you have grown up into a beautiful girl.” It was only a profound moment, one of those times when time stopped—and it signalled the start of what would out to be a wonderful adventure that permanently altered her life.
Growing up, Saira celebrated her birthdays in happiness, honouring the continuous love and support of her family. She recalls the wise counsel from her older brother Sultan; the gentle care of Pari Chehra Naseem Banuji; and the amazing advice from her grandmother, Shamshad Waheed Khan. Deeply appreciative of these ties, rooted in love and tradition, they have greatly helped Saira to be a major part of what she is now.
One particularly memorable birthday was August 23, 1966, when Saira celebrated her birthday at the housewarming of the newly chosen house near Dilip Kumar’s house. From an ardent fan to a committed wife, Saira feels honoured to have gone through the several levels of this extraordinary guy.
