This time around, in a first-ever association, the unparalleled superstar of Indian cinema, Shah Rukh Khan, will once again join hands with Disney to lend his voice to the iconic character Mufasa in the Hindi version of the film. Giving him company are his sons, Aryan Khan and AbRam, lending their voices to the characters of Simba and Young Mufasa, respectively. This forms a historic casting association where the real-life father and sons come together to play the royal lion family.

The Hindi trailer for Mufasa: The Lion King is breaking the internet right now, with the stunning visuals and the deep, resonant voice of Shah Rukh Khan. The trailer brings to life a glimpse of Mufasa’s origin, leading him from a small cub to becoming the king of the jungle. The film is supposed to be one of the most visually striking releases of the year, with a combination of live-action filmmaking techniques and photorealistic computer-generated imagery.

Speaking of the film, Shah Rukh Khan said, “Mufasa holds a very special place in my heart; as a father, what he teaches the young King resounds with me also with a strong moral code. It was really warm for me to revisit this character and feel his honest and beautiful emotion, as I simultaneously signed a legendary legacy of ‘The Lion King’. ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ is an essentially powerful story of great resilience and leadership, and I am more than excited to be chosen by Disney to voice Mufasa in the upcoming flick.”

Bikram Duggal, Head of Studios at Disney Star, echoed this sentiment, adding, “Mufasa is more than just a character; he embodies a spirit that inspires generations. We couldn’t imagine anyone other than Shah Rukh Khan and Aryan Khan taking on the roles of Mufasa and Simba. With AbRam now joining the cast, this film has become even more meaningful for Indian audiences. Our goal is to bring this incredible story to life for millions of families across India.”

It also has an extremely distinguished talent lineup in its English version, such as Aaron Pierre, who will be the voice of Mufasa; Donald Glover, as Simba, and the voice of Young Mufasa, Braelyn Rankins. Indeed, Mufasa: The Lion King would become a cinematic event to engross audiences of all ages with its lovable characters along with some new ones and take them on an unbreathing journey in the Pride Lands.

The theatres across the country will mark December 20, 2024, with Mufasa: The Lion King—an experience that will be unforgettable, as it plays out on the big screen in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
