Munjya: A Unique Blend of Folklore and Cutting-Edge VFX

Munjya draws inspiration from Maharashtrian folklore, featuring a ghost brought to life with stunning CGI. The visual effects, created by the renowned Hollywood VFX company DNEG, headed by Brad Minnich, have left audiences in awe. DNEG is celebrated for its work on epic superhero films like Batman vs Superman and Justice League.

A Vision Brought to Life

Sharvari shares insights into the ambitious vision behind Munjya. “My producer Dinesh Vijan and director Aditya Sarpotdar aimed to deliver an unparalleled theatrical experience. They insisted on a CGI character that would wow audiences and Dinesh sir enlisted the best VFX company to realize this vision. I was amazed when I saw the final CGI character, and it’s clear the audience feels the same, which is why our film is such a blockbuster.”

A Remarkable Journey

Reflecting on the filming process, Sharvari reveals, “During the shoot, we only had a reference for the CGI character. Seeing the final version was incredible. Brad Minnich’s work has truly won people over. I feel fortunate to have collaborated with him at this stage in my career. It was an enriching experience.”

Behind-the-Scenes Collaboration

Sharvari also speaks about the close collaboration on set. “Brad was present every day, engaging in detailed discussions with Aditya sir. Listening to their conversations helped me understand Munjya better. It was an enjoyable and educational experience.”

Box Office Triumph

Munjya has performed exceptionally well at the box office, amassing ₹64.75 crore as of June 18, 2024. The film’s success underscores the power of blending traditional storytelling with modern visual effects to captivate audiences.
