The Woman Behind India’s Biggest Daily Soaps
As Managing Director of Balaji Telefilms, Kapoor shaped Indian entertainment with iconic shows like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Kasamh Se, Pavitra Rishta, Naagin, and Bade Achhe Lagte Hain.
Her ability to balance emotion, storytelling, and business helped create a media empire that influenced millions of viewers across India.
“I Never Thought I’d Come This Far”
Receiving the honour, Shobha Kapoor said:
“Thank you, Indian Telly Awards, for this Lifetime Achievement Award. Honestly, I never thought I’d come this far.”
She remembered how everything started with her daughter Ekta Kapoor’s dream:
“It was Ekta’s dream to tell stories. I supported her as a mother, and soon her dream became my strength and passion too.”

Kapoor thanked her family too:
“Thanks to my son Tusshar and my husband Jeetendra for supporting me. Without them, this would not have been possible.”
