As Managing Director of Balaji Telefilms, Kapoor shaped Indian entertainment with iconic shows like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Kasamh Se, Pavitra Rishta, Naagin, and Bade Achhe Lagte Hain.

Her ability to balance emotion, storytelling, and business helped create a media empire that influenced millions of viewers across India.

Receiving the honour, Shobha Kapoor said:
