DreamWorks Animation’s highly anticipated “Shrek 5” has officially expanded its star-studded voice cast with the addition of “Saturday Night Live” comedian Marcello Hernández and actor Skyler Gisondo, who is known from “Superman” and “The Righteous Gemstones.” The two talented actors will be voicing Shrek and Fiona’s sons, Fergus and Farkle, bringing new life into the beloved animated franchise.
The film’s official Instagram made the announcement, featuring a hilarious text message exchange between Hernández and Gisondo that showcased their excitement to join the iconic “Far Far Away” family. Joining the returning legends Mike Myers as Shrek, Eddie Murphy as Donkey, and Cameron Diaz as Fiona, the new characters flesh out the Shrek family dynamic. Zendaya also joins as Felicia, the couple’s daughter.
“Shrek 5” promises a thrilling new adventure as fans revisit the magical world created over two decades ago. It is directed by Walt Dohrn and Conrad Vernon with Brad Ableson as co-director and will hit the theaters on June 30, 2027. This highly anticipated sequel continues the story of Shrek’s family by underlining the roles of Fergus, Farkle, and Felicia in the forthcoming chapter of this much-loved series.
