In the dynamic world of acting, stepping out of one’s comfort zone is often a necessity, especially when it involves mastering new languages and accents. Actress Siddhi Sharma, known for her role as Gulki in Sun Neo’s show ‘Ishq Jabariya,’ recently faced such a challenge. Set against a regional backdrop, the show demands authenticity, including local accents.

During the shooting of ‘Ishq Jabariya’ in the picturesque city of Prayagraj, Siddhi Sharma had an unforgettable experience. “When we began filming, we travelled to Prayagraj. Given the show’s regional setting, adopting a Bihari accent was essential. Initially, I struggled with the accent due to my background; being born and raised in Mumbai with a Marwari heritage from Jaipur, the Bihari accent was completely new to me,” Siddhi shared.

Despite the initial hurdles, Siddhi’s dedication paid off. She recounted, “One day, a local approached me and asked if I was from the area. When I told him I wasn’t, he was genuinely surprised and remarked that I spoke just like the locals. That moment was a significant win for me, as it meant I had mastered the accent so well that even a local couldn’t tell I was an outsider.”

‘Ishq Jabariya’ is a heartfelt romantic drama that follows the journey of Gulki, a spirited young woman aspiring to become an air hostess. Despite facing hardships from her stern stepmother, Gulki remains optimistic. The series unfolds with unexpected twists, potentially leading her to find love in the most unlikely places. With stellar performances by Kamya Panjabi, Siddhi Sharma, and Lakshya Khurana, ‘Ishq Jabariya’ promises a captivating story of resilience, surprises, and the enduring power of love.

Don’t miss ‘Ishq Jabariya’ on Sun Neo, airing every Monday to Saturday at 7:30 PM.
