Sonakshi Sinha plays Dhan Pisachani in Jatadhara, one of her most visually stunning and mythologically complex roles to date. Dhan Pisachani is a divine force that comes from cosmic energy and mythological stories. Producer Prerna Arora said that it took almost three months of hard creative research to make this character real.
Arora said, “Dhan Pisachani is the divine form of energy in the truest sense.” “Even though the directors had their first idea, I saw her in a different way. After talking about it a lot, we found a balance that made her look like a movie star and captured her mythic essence. Her aura, jewelry, and every other detail were made to show both grace and power.
The story of Samudra Manthan (the Churning of the Ocean) tells how Dhan Pisachani came to be. When Lord Shiva drank Halahal poison to save the universe, it turned into female beings called Piśāchanīs.
Venkat Kalyan, the director, said that Pisachani was “celestial yet fearsome—a divine embodiment of creation’s duality.” He said that she should not be worshipped or feared, but understood as a symbol of both beauty and danger.
Costume designer Mohit worked very hard on Sonakshi’s look, mixing traditional skills with a movie touch. The textures of the fabrics and the ornaments were all meant to show wealth, energy, and cosmic balance, which are all things that Dhan embodies.
With Jatadhara, Sonakshi’s change into Dhan Pisachani will amaze viewers and change the way mythology and modern movies come together.
