Sui Dhaaga Trailer: Varun & Anushka Sew Up An Inspiring Journey Towards Self-Employment
One of the most anticipated films of 2018, Sui Dhaaga’s trailer is out and has moved us from the word go! Profoundly inspired by the government’s ‘Make in India’ campaign, director Sharat Katariya’s comedy drama brings into limelight how artisans struggle throughout their lives in a chase to keep their art of embroidery alive. Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma play the deglam leading couple in the movie and it seems the duo have pulled off amazing performances for their respective parts.
Sui Dhaada is an inspiring tale of finding respect in society through self-reliance. The film narrates the story of Mauji (Varun) who, doing full justice to his name, is a happy-go-lucky man and is more than content doing meagre jobs to earn a living, even if his boss doesn’t give him the respect an honest and diligent employee deserves. This irks his wife (Anushka) who can’t tolerate the humiliation and ill-treatment her husband goes through at work. She soon suggests him to stop running after such jobs and start his own venture that may not provide them with enough money in the beginning but at least he’ll do it with complete dignity and get respected for his efforts. The two then begin their new journey together – journey towards self-employment.
It takes an old sewing machine for Mauji to pave the way for a fresh start. Mamta, like a dutiful wife, goes all out to raise her husband’s spirits and encourage him in his endeavors. An embroidery expert, she also assists him expand his business into a small-scale handloom industry.
It certainly gives us a kick to see the protagonist eventually managing to stand on his own feet. Watch!
Varun looks endearing in parts where he has to act all cute, and at the same time, comes across as a convincing performer during the portions that give us a peek of his journey from unemployment to self-employment. Anushka too seems to have sunk her teeth into her non-glamorous avatar with absolute conviction. Clad in simple sarees, the actress portrays her character of a devoted wife beautifully, inspiring us all in ways more than one.
The film brings back the successful team of Sharat Kataria and Maneesh Sharma (producer under the banner of Yash Raj Films), who gave us the astounding romantic comedy, Dum Laga Ke Haisha, in 2015. Shot in Bhopal, Chanderi and Delhi, Sui Dhaaga is scheduled to hit the cinema halls on 28 September this year.
