Actor Sundeep Kishan recently shared his insights into the working cultures of South Indian and Bollywood film industries at the Dish TV Watcho Storytellers Conclave. Known for his roles in Venkatadri Express, Tiger, and Shor in the City, he compared the set dynamics of the two industries.

South Indian vs. Bollywood Film Set Dynamics

Sundeep explained the differences between the two industries: “In Tamil Nadu, the environment is more hierarchical, while in Mumbai, the chaotic atmosphere with directors like Raj & DK has an underlying structure. Once the camera rolls, the set turns silent.”

Set Vibes and Food Culture

He also noted the distinct energy on set. “In Tamil Nadu, food is buffet-style, creating a relaxed vibe. Mumbai sets, however, are fast-paced but highly organized,” he added.

The Rise of Pan India Films

He highlighted the growing respect for South Indian films, saying, “Films from Hyderabad in languages like Telugu and Tamil are now being dubbed for North India and gaining massive recognition.”
