Taylor Swift has released the music video for “Opalite,” the second single from her 2025 album The Life of a Showgirl. The video, which she wrote and directed herself, is a fun throwback to the ’90s that fans love.
The video starts with a fake ’90s infomercial for the Opalite spray that promises to “turn issues into bliss.” In it, Swift watches with her “partner,” a giant gray pet rock she takes on silly dates like karaoke and bracelet-making, which is a nod to her Eras Tour fandom. After the spray, it turns into a love story, with Swift and the rock (now animated) enjoying mall pretzels, a photo shoot with Lewis Capaldi, and a dance-off with sequins.
Swift got her Graham Norton Show co-panelists from October 2025: Domhnall Gleeson (with a cactus friend), Cillian Murphy, Lewis Capaldi, Greta Lee, Jodie Turner-Smith, and host Graham Norton. This was to make the cameos feel real, and it fulfilled Gleeson’s wish to be in a Swift video. Rodrigo Prieto, a cinematographer who has worked with us many times, shot on film to give it that nostalgic glow.
Swift talked about the idea of “crash landed” in an Instagram post. It came up during her Life of a Showgirl promo on The Graham Norton Show, where she talked about how creativity sparks new friendships and bold fashion. The video hints at themes of connection and change. It’s now available on all streaming services for Swifties around the world.
