“As an actor, the amount of screen time I get varies. Some days, I have substantial dialogue, while other days, I may have little to nothing,” Sharma explains. “Staying prepared continuously is challenging, especially when there are long gaps between significant scenes. It’s crucial to maintain your character’s integrity, but it can be frustrating when you can’t express yourself for extended periods.”

Sharma finds both long and short dialogues manageable, depending on the scene’s demands. She particularly appreciates the complexities involved in portraying negative characters on TV and in films. “Negative roles offer more variations than positive ones. A positive character often has a single shade, but a negative character can switch between multiple facets, allowing for more creative freedom,” she says.

Playing a negative character can be especially rewarding when it evokes strong reactions from the audience. “If people love your positive character, you’re successful. If they send hate messages for a negative role, that’s also a success. It means you’re doing your job well by making people feel deeply about your character,” Sharma adds.

Regardless of the nature of the role, Sharma emphasizes the importance of delivering a strong performance. “Challenges are inherent in acting, and it’s up to me to tackle them head-on. My goal is always to perform to the best of my ability,” she states.

Sharma also stresses the significance of character evolution. “As an actor, it’s crucial for my character to grow. Even if I don’t know the next dialogues or storyline, staying mentally and physically prepared is key. Understanding the story’s direction and being emotionally connected helps in delivering a more profound performance. Character evolution is a beautiful journey that comes with loving your role and seizing opportunities for growth through the writing.”
