Ulhasnagar Education Society Leads the Way by Introducing Sex Education After Impact of OMG2
The release of the movie OMG2 starring Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, and Yami Gautam has caused quite a stir since last week. The film, which has garnered immense acclaim, sheds light on the crucial necessity of sex education in India. Following its release, numerous influential voices have emerged advocating for the integration of sex education into school curricula.
In a significant move, an education society in Ulhasnagar, Maharashtra, has taken the lead by becoming the first to implement this change. Recently, the Sindhu Education Society in Ulhasnagar, helmed by Secretary Rekha Thakur, organized a special screening of OMG2. The event was attended by esteemed MLA Kumar, 184 teachers, and principals from approximately 15 schools in Ulhasnagar. The writer and director of the movie, Amit Rai, were also present at the screening, which received an enthusiastic response from all attendees.
Following the screening, the Sindhu Educational Society publicly announced its decision to incorporate sex education into its curriculum beginning with the current academic year.
This development marks a significant victory for the film’s creators. While the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) faces criticism for the alterations made to the film, an education society has been so deeply influenced by OMG2 that it is revising its educational approach. The message is clear: India is ready for substantial changes in the education system, a transformation catalyzed by the film’s message.
Amit Rai, who attended the event, expressed his joy, stating, “This is an experience I will forever cherish. The film’s intended purpose has been fulfilled. I am not only elated by the film’s commercial success, but I am also thrilled that our message has resonated with a wide audience, resulting in tangible changes around us. There is no greater satisfaction than this.”
