In a significant healthcare initiative, Upasana Kamineni Konidela, Vice Chairperson of Apollo Hospitals, announced the establishment of a Model Anganwadi Centre in Pithampuram to celebrate Chairman Dr. Prathap C Reddy’s 93rd birthday. This new centre is dedicated to empowering women and ensuring children’s health by enhancing sanitation, hygiene, and nutrition. The focus is on maternal and child healthcare during the critical first 1,000 days, with personalized nutritional interventions aimed at eradicating malnutrition and reducing maternal and infant mortality rates to zero.
The initiative goes beyond healthcare by offering customized curriculums for mothers and children, empowering families with knowledge on health, hygiene, and early childhood education. It includes providing clearly defined roles for Anganwadi workers and staff, as well as deploying digital health records to track health outcomes for women and children. The program emphasizes sustainability by organizing regular workshops to engage fathers, families, and local communities in supporting women and children.
Located in Pawan Kalyan’s constituency, this initiative is set to gain high visibility with the potential for nationwide implementation through the Prime Minister, once proven successful. On Dr. Prathap C Reddy’s birthday, a phased plan will be undertaken to enhance and beautify 109 Anganwadi Centres in the Pithapuram district.
This thoughtful initiative, led by Upasana Kamineni Konidela, aims to redefine Anganwadi Centres by addressing healthcare, nutrition, education, empowerment, and sustainability. It seeks to create a health ecosystem that sets a benchmark for women’s and child development across the nation. Previously, Upasana Kamineni Konidela’s Apollo Foundation ensured pilgrims’ well-being by inaugurating a Free Apollo Emergency Care Center at the iconic Ram Mandir. Now, with the establishment of the Model Anganwadi Centre in Pithampuram, Apollo Hospitals continues its commitment to advancing healthcare systems and support.
