VIHAAN SAMAT

Vihaan Samat has been a known face in the OTT circuit and earned much appreciation for his performance in the celebrated series Mismatched. Now, with Call Me Bae, the actor is all set to take his career several notches higher while spreading his wings as an actor. At a recent trailer launch, he charmed the media fraternity by talking maturely on acting and its issues, including typecasting in the realm of digital entertainment.

Now, while being asked about typecasting in OTT and how he makes his presence felt in ensemble casts, Vihaan said, “So, in my case, with typecasting, I feel the need to keep doing different roles that will challenge me and even scare me a little. Call Me Bae is something quite different from what I have done in my previous works. I play a character who is confident, quite sure of himself, brash, and at times narcissistic—traits I have never attempted on-screen before, which got me really excited about this role.”

He said about his approach towards standing out in a multi-starrer show, “My primary focus isn’t necessarily standing out in a large cast. As an actor, my goal is to do better every time. If I am doing my job well enough, the truth and authenticity of the performance will stick with the audience. Maybe if I don’t stand out, it’s because I am not connecting enough with the character or probably with my craft.
