As Sony Entertainment Television gets ready to start a new season of MasterChef India, famous chef and restaurant owner Vikas Khanna wrote a touching note about his long history with the famous cooking show.
Chef Khanna said on Instagram that MasterChef India is much more than just a cooking contest. For him, it is still a very personal journey that starts in Indian homes, kitchens, and stories.
“A Journey Back to Our Homes and Kitchens”
Vikas Khanna wrote that MasterChef India gives people a look into India’s food, culture, and community. He has been dedicated to making platforms that inspire home cooks for 16 years. He said that every season was a chance to go back to the land and flavours that made him who he is.
The chef says that the show brings back memories of “our mothers’ hands, our spices, and our stories,” making each season feel like a homecoming full of pride and emotion.
Giving Home Cooks a Voice in the US and Around the World
Khanna talked about how MasterChef India has always given home cooks from all over the country the power to do things. He thinks that through their travels, the world gets to see India’s true culinary identity.
The chef said that standing among his own people on MasterChef India is still his greatest honour, even though he has taken Indian food to the world stage over the years.
He said, “This platform is not just about food; it’s about identity, dignity, and pride.”
A New Chapter with Old Friends
Vikas Khanna will be back with fellow judges Ranveer Brar and Chef Kunal Kapur in the next season. Khanna said that he feels grateful to be able to represent India on such a big stage and to be a small part of the lives of 1.43 billion people.
Introducing the Jodi Format
This season has a new twist: a unique Jodi format in which pairs from all over India compete. Each pair shows how the country’s identity is changing, where ambition, relationships, and tradition all thrive.
The format honours partnerships, progress, and shared dreams, which are all important values of the show.
Honouring an India that is Strong and Confident
With its focus on working together and being proud of one’s culture, MasterChef India once again shows off a confident India that honours its roots while boldly moving into the future.
**MasterChef India starts on January 5 and will air Monday through Friday at 9:00 PM on Sony Entertainment Television and Sony LIV.
