Mumbai, May 3, 2025 — Celebrating the 100th birth anniversary of the legendary Mohammed Rafi, Whistling Woods International (WWI) and Chairman Subhash Ghai have announced the Mohd Rafi Music Scholarship.
A Tribute to a Musical Icon
The scholarship will be awarded annually to one meritorious student from the Whistling Woods School of Music. It aims to honour Rafi Saab’s unmatched legacy and inspire new musical talent in India.
Official Launch at Cadence Music Festival 2025
The scholarship will be unveiled on May 5, 2025, during the Cadence Music Festival’s opening ceremony. Shahid Mohammed Rafi, son of the late singer, will be present for the announcement.
Subhash Ghai’s Vision for Young Talent
Subhash Ghai stated:

Ghai’s Upcoming Film ‘Amaira’ Set for May 16 Release
Alongside the scholarship, Subhash Ghai’s next film, ‘Amaira’, releases on May 16, 2025. It stars WWI alumna Sai Godbole, with Rajeshwari Sachdev and Ajinkya Deo, continuing Ghai’s tradition of spotlighting emerging talent.
