Wonder Man Trailer: Disney+ Premiere Jan 2026 with Yahya Abdul-Mateen II

Marvel’s highly anticipated Wonder Man series is set to premiere on Disney+ on January 27, 2026. It will be a mix of Hollywood satire and superhero action under the Marvel Spotlight brand. The eight-episode show stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams, an aspiring actor. It follows his transformation into the ionic-powered hero while a new version of the Wonder Man movie is being made. The first trailer, which was shown at New York Comic Con 2025, shows Simon auditioning with Trevor Slattery, who is played by Ben Kingsley. This suggests that there will be meta humor and drama behind the scenes.

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II plays Simon Williams, a struggling Hollywood stuntman who gains superhuman strength and durability. This is his third role in a comic book movie, after Watchmen and Aquaman. In the superhero movie, Ben Kingsley plays Trevor Slattery again, this time as a funny character. Demetrius Grosse, Lauren Glazier, and Byron Bowers are some of the supporting actors who add depth to this character-driven MCU entry

The series follows Simon’s path from actor to Wonder Man, which is similar to comics where Baron Zemo gives him power against the Avengers. This time, though, the story is more about making movies and less about making fun of them. It is part of Phase Six, but it is a little different from the main MCU stories because it focuses on grounded, self-contained stories like other Spotlight projects. Expect references to Vision’s origins and the West Coast Avengers. Production will end in April 2024 because of delays caused by the strike.
