Actor becomes an overnight sensation as his scene from KuKu TV’s vertical drama sweeps social media.
Scene from Secret Empire Takes Off
Worship Khanna, of shows Kumkum Bhagya and Ishq Subhan Allah, is trending for his work in Secret Empire on KuKu TV. A scene from the show, which emulates Korean-style vertical dramas, has gone viral across media.
“This format is popular in India at present,” said Khanna. “KuKu TV was one of the first to do it, and Secret Empire is one of their biggest shows.”
A Last-Minute Casting Call
The actor was not even supposed to be there in the show. “I was in Surat for work when I received a call. They told me there’s a vertical shoot the day after tomorrow—could I do it?” he remembered.
He agreed readily. “I flew down, came to the set, received the script, and shot the scene that’s everywhere now. I knew nothing about vertical dramas at that time.”
Instinct Over Preparation
Worship revealed he did no research for the part. “I just used my instincts. I’ve done many roles over 12 years, but I’ve never received this kind of love.”
He plays a flashy, rich brat. His performance was inspired by something his father used to say: “Old money is quiet, but new money likes to show off.”
Recognition Across North India
Ever since the scene took off, he has been getting recognized everywhere. “A cab driver didn’t take money from me—he was watching my show!” he chuckled.
Even while shopping for milk, people point him out as “the wine guy with the ₹10 crore wine.” “It’s chaotic. Everyone’s telling me, ‘Your video is everywhere!'” he continued.
The massive response has changed how people see this content style. Cities like Allahabad, Ghaziabad, and Varanasi are showing strong interest.
“There’s real buzz around vertical storytelling now,” he said. “And yes, I’m definitely open to doing more. Hopefully, with even bigger roles.”
