ADRIFT – Films like “Castaway”, and “The Perfect Storm”, are precursors for what to expect with this new film called “ADRIFT”. Even like “Life of Pi”, the audience has seen and experienced of how someone is stranded on a boat in the middle of the ocean.

Based on a true story – “ADRIFT” – shows a couple meeting in Tahiti and falling in love. They want to explore their dream by travelling the world on their boat. But they hit a bad hurricane, and they are adrift in the ocean for over 40 days.

The scenes of the bad weather and effects grip you, but the going back to the past and present from scene to scene gets irritating at times. I wish the film went in a chronological basic way.

As for the lead actress Shailene Woodley of “The Fault In Our Stars”, appears to be very repetitive with her verbose conversation interludes with her co-stars.

Overall it is a predictable affair of the inevitable mixed with human resilience. “ADRIFT” gets 2 stars. Courtesy AWESOME TV & BEING FILMY.
