BIRDS OF PREY AND THE EMANCIPATION OF ONE HARLEY QUINN – Actress Margot Robbie is indeed a diverse performer, and she excels in her diversity of film that she chooses. From “Wolf of Wall Street, to “I Tonya”, to “Bombshell”, and now with DC Comics adaptation of “Harley Quinn”, She is perfect as this zany character that comes to life. “BIRDS OF PREY AND THE EMANCIPATION OF ONE HARLEY QUINN”, tells her story after she has been dumped by her boyfriend, the villain called, “The Joker”. If you have seen “Suicide Squad” earlier, then you would get to see their narrative in that film. In this film, everyone is out to get her. She has rubbed a lot of people the wrong way, and she also has been wronged by some as well.

She has her fun and bonds with the other 3 girls with their own history of theirs, that later unite them as one towards the end, to avenge the psychotic face peeling guy called “BLACK MASK’, played by Ewan Mcgreggor. Surprisingly he is menacing in this role, and boisterous.

The plot of most DC films are usually weak, or they end up towards the climax with a whimper. You want expect something more. Unlike “Joker”, which released last year, that was realistic, I wished this could have followed the same track with some connection between these 2 characters. Instead this one comes of as a popcorn entertainer. But having said that you have to see it for Margot Robbie and her Queens accent. It is quite entertaining. The film gets a 3 star recommendation.
