DOWNHILL – This entry from the Sundance Film Festival is definitely an interesting watch. A family goes to Austria for skiing during the winter break. Its like – “Ibiza in the Alps”, until an avalanche hits. That is when the downhill spiral takes place. “DOWNHILL”, which features Will Ferrill & Julia Louis Dreyfuss – takes on real situations that couples, and parents face when they hit that mid life road block in their lives. This is depicted in a dry humorous way.

Will plays Peter, who has lost his dear father 8 months ago, and as still grieving. Or is he?? He wants to run away yet he wants to be accepted by his family. Everyone can relate to this ambivalent state of affairs, when that time comes.

The film shows that we as a society can be very vane and want social activity with others, or envy what others do. But social events are right there in front of you, with your close family to be involved in, and that is the wake up call message in this film. Relationships need to be nurtured. Billie played by Julia Louis Dreyfuss as the wife and mom, sees her life as glass of water half empty, and nags, while Ferrill sees his glass, as half full, but is it the other way around as well? Well then go see “DOWNHILL” to get the answers. The film gets an “Uphill” 3 star recommendation. Courtesy Awesome TV & BEING FILMY.
