FANNEY KHAN – Summer is half way done for Bollywood, but there is a film for the whole family to enjoy still, and that is Anil Kapoor Productions/Rakyesh Om Prakash Mehra’s cute and fun film called “FANNEY KHAN” The film has a great mix of a cast that stars, Anil Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai, Raj Kumar Rao & Divya Dutta. The film does remind you a lot of “Secret Superstar”, which makes you feel a little bit of deja-vu, but having said that it is the acting and chemistry of all characters that engages you and touches you.
Every parent always wishes for their children to be more successful then them, and one should follow their dreams is important as well. But what if you are not that pretty as what the media would like you to be? What about your genuine talent? But you do not look like a movie star, or a Beyonce type singer like “Baby Singh”, played by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Well then kidnap the singer for ransom and get that money to make an album for your daughter. Now that should solve the problem.
Anil Kapoor puts an earnest performance of a middle class factory worker, who only wishes the best for his daughter to fulfill her dream, and that natural performance is what holds this film complete. It is like he says in “Hindi” – ” Agar Sapnay Nahin Dekhogi…Toh Zindagi Kya Jeena Hai…” – (If your not going dream, then what is the worth of your life.)
