Siddharth Anand is on a roll. The director has delivered eight consecutive box office hits, the latest being Fighter, starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone. The action-packed film has grossed over 352 Crores worldwide and is still running in theatres.
Fighter is the first blockbuster of 2024, following the footsteps of Pathaan, Anand’s 2023 mega-hit featuring Shah Rukh Khan. Pathaan was the first Hindi film to cross 1,000 Crores at the global box office (without China), making Anand the only filmmaker to achieve this feat.
Anand’s journey to success began with Salaam Namaste in 2005, a romantic comedy that was well-received by the audience. He followed it up with Ta Ra Rum Pum in 2007, a family drama with a racing backdrop. In 2008, he directed Bachna Ae Haseeno, a hit musical starring Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone.
Anand switched gears in 2014 with Bang Bang!, an action thriller that paired Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif. The film was a huge success, earning 333 Crores worldwide and becoming the fourth highest-grossing Indian film of that year. He repeated the magic with War in 2019, a high-octane film that pitted Hrithik Roshan against Tiger Shroff. War was a critical and commercial smash hit, raking in over 475 Crores and topping the charts as the highest-grossing Indian film of 2019.
Anand has proven his versatility and vision as a director, creating films that appeal to a wide range of audiences. He has also established a loyal fan base for his stars, especially Hrithik Roshan, who has collaborated with him on three films.
Fighter is Anand’s latest offering, a patriotic film that showcases the chemistry between Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone. The film also features Anil Kapoor in a pivotal role. Fighter is produced by Viacom18 Studios in association with Marflix Pictures and is currently playing in theatres.
