Remake of South hit ‘Veeram’ on the cards with Akshay Kumar in the lead role!
Akshay Kumar has been effortlessly getting into guise of South Indian remakes for Bollywood. ‘Rowdy Rathore’ ‘Bhool Bhulaiyya’ are few of the remakes that Akshay Kumar has starred in. As it is there a report in DNA, and if that is to be believed, Akshay Kumar is all set to add the remake of the Tamil film ‘Veeram’ to the list.
Apparently, the actor has said ‘yes’ to the Hindi remake of the Ajith-starrer ‘Veeram’, which is tentatively titled ‘Land Of Lungi’. The film will be directed by Farhad Samji and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala.
Akshay had gone on record to say that he did not want to be labelled as an actor who does only films with a social message and had expressed interest in doing an out-and-out entertainer. “Akshay hasn’t done a South remake since Boss, so this will be a good change for his fans,” a source said.
Akshay will most likely play a lungi-clad hero in the film. The insider added, “Akshay is very comfortable with Farhad’s sense of humor. As for Akshay and Sajid, this will be their ninth film together. The original film had done good business, and the team is hoping good rewards for the remake as well”. We at Awesome TV wish them all the luck!
