ROCKETRY – THE NAMBI EFFECT – Once in a while India does release an intelligent film, a biopic, where not much has been known about a scientist, that finally got vindicated in 2018, and got the Padmabushan Award in 2019. The film is called “ROCKETRY – THE NAMBI EFFECT”. Acted, Screenplay, Written & Directed by R. Madhavan. It is impressive, and he has done a commendable job as director.

The film has been made with passion and vigor, for the truth behind this scientist that India is forever indebted to. His name is Nambi Narayanan, played bu R. Madhavan. The film starts in 1994, in Kerala, India, where he has been a lot of unrest has been developing, and he gets arrested. He was falsely accused for selling scientific secrets regarding Rocketry to Pakistan. He along with 52 scientists at ISRO, which is India’s – NASA was one of the first people that had found an economical way to send a rocket into a space. This enabled ISRO to be the first to send their Satellite to MARS.

But the second half shows how much pain and suffering he went through, when he was wrongly accused, and was known as a traitor. Nambi Narayanan did so much for his country, and it took him over 25 years to claim his innocence. It is a shame for what he and his family had to go through.

Madhavan gives a brilliant and realistic performance in this film. Shah Rukh Khan lends his guest appearance to this film as the interviewer, with sincerity and class. The film is off-beat, and could have been a little bit trimmed, but it was a very informative and educational film
