SRK To Begin Shooting For Salute Once He’s Back From Holiday
Superstar Shah Rukh Khan is having a whale of a time on his family vacation in Spain at the moment, and we just got a peek of some of the fun moments on social media. But being a workaholic that he is, the actor is soon to return and resume shooting. Next up from his bag is filmmaker Anand L. Rai’s Zero that has sure made one and all curious about it, especially given SRK’s role in it. Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma too play pivotal parts in the film. Interestingly, this is the trio’s second collaboration after ace filmmaker Yash Chopra’s last directorial project, Jab Tak Hai Jann (2012). Khan plays a dwarf in the romantic drama, who falls for a superstar enacted by Kaif. Sharma portrays an intellectually challenged girl in Zero.
Reportedly, Shah Rukh has signed on the dotted line for his first ever biopic titled Salute, in which, he’ll be playing Rakesh Sharma, a former Indian Air Force pilot who flew aboard Soyuz T-11 in 1984 and is the only Indian citizen to travel in space. The film’s leading lady is yet to be finalised. It is said that once SRK is back from his vacation, he will begin prepping for this project, which is slated to go on floors in September. The actor will shoot until November-end and then take a break for the promotions of Zero. He’ll then resume shooting for Salute from January next year.
Those who aren’t aware, Salute was first offered to Aamir Khan who even agreed to do it, but later on, backed out of it owing to his commitment to Thugs of Hindostan and Mahabharata. In fact, if reports are anything to go by, even Shah Rukh was thinking of opting out of the film after giving his nod. But latest reports suggest that the 52-year-old star has finally locked the dates for the film. Salute is expected to release sometime during the end of 2019.
Hard core SRK fans will be exhilarated to know that the actor’s Don 3 too might go on floors in 2019 and release the same year! The action thriller will be extensively shot in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. This time, the makers have thought of roping in a fresh face opposite Khan instead for signing an established actress.
Coming back to his upcoming release, Zero, scheduled to hit the cinema halls on December 21 this year, will see a number of actors in special appearances including Sridevi, Rani Mukerji, Kajol, Deepika Padukone, Karisma Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. This will be the yesteryear diva Sridevi’s last film.
