THE GENTLEMAN – If we in the U.S.A have Quentin Tarantino, than the Brits have Guy Ritchie. Now his films cater to niche segment audience, but I was surprised with this e venture of his, called, “THE GENTLEMAN”. It was indeed above my expectations. The Trailer of the film looked like the common British mob type pot boiler, but it was not, and rather quite entertaining,

Mathew McConaughey leads the cast as an American born that now resides in England with his British wife, and runs a huge marijuana drug empire. Many want him out, and even the “Chinese Drug Mafia’ want buy him out. But when you have to be the “King”, you have to not act like one, but be like one. The film has humor as well.

The entire cast has a lot of contribution towards its story. From Hugh Grant as an undercover reporter that wishes to extort money from this empire, gets a little over his head. He is quirky and loves his steak, also a 15 year old scotch along with it. The film has great narration and twists. Colin Farrell as the boxing teacher, with his “Toddlers” is a character that will entertain you.

But what I quite liked was the role of the supporting actor – The loyal right hand man, played by Charlie Hunnam. The suave and calm assistant to McConaughey, who under many demands and pressure, never looses his cool, and gets the job done, was an engaging perspective of the film to watch. The film gets a 3 and a half star recommendation. Go see it! Enjoy! Courtesy Awesome TV & BEING FILMY.
