URI:THE SURGICAL STRIKE – Actor Vicky Kaushal just gets better and better with each film he chooses. He is always diverse, and does different characters with justice. In “URI:THE SURGICAL STRIKE” – Directed by newcomer Aditya Dhar, Vicky Kaushal plays a commando, named Vihaan Singh Shergill.

The film does remind you a lot of “Zero Dark 30”, “Laqshya”, and “Mission Kashmir”. Having said that, the similarities stop there. The film portrays the true story with realism, and innovative sequences that will keep you spellbound. The film is intense and is fast paced with good and natural performances by Vicky Kaushal, Yami Gautam, Paresh Rawal, and Kriti Kulhari.

The film pays tribute to those soldiers that lost their lives in the Kashmir border by terrorists in 2016. The Indian Government then consents for a secret surgical strike in 2016, to cross over into Pakistan border, which is led by Major Vihaan Shergill to seek justice and payback to what was done to his soldiers prior to this mission. This film is patriotic, and gets your blood pumping with adrenaline. The editing and direction is also well done by new Director – Aditya Dhar. The film gets a 3 and half star recommendation. Enjoy!!
