By Arun Sajnani,

ELVIS – After “The Great Gatsby”, a good attempt has been made by him in directing the film about “ELVIS”. It has that fast paced visuals and the correct era settings that takes you on this autobiography journey with great nostalgia, from his Memphis beginnings to his end in Las vegas into the 70’s.

Tom Hanks plays Elvis Presley’s manager that had manipulated, swindled his money, and controlled his life, along with his ambitions. Actor Austin Butler may not look exactly like Elvis, but he brings that aura, and charm, including his charisma, along with the way he talks with those mannerisms with perfection. He is indeed Oscar worthy for this year for this role. The way the scenes are recreated with his performances in Las Vegas are done by him is a must watch.

The relationship between his family and his wife Priscilla gets a bit sidelined, since there is so much to show about this legendary singer. He loved his audience, but he was lonely soul with a broken heart, who died at the tragic young age of 42 in 1977 of drugs and a heart attack. The King lives on in this “ELVIS”, played beautifully by Austin Butler.
