LONGSHOT – Behind every successful man there is a woman, but in this case it is perhaps, behind every successful woman, there is a man…or rather an average man…or rather not in the same league as her. “LONGSHOT”, which releases this week, brings together an odd couple of sorts, which features Charlize Theron, and Seth Rogen.

An average Joe journalist has a childhood crush on this girl that use to be his babysitter many years back, only to realize now that as adults their paths have reconnected. This time his crush, played by Charlize Theron, is the Secretary of State, who plans to run for President of the United States in 2024.The film takes on the theme of opposites attract. But unfortunately the film goes down that path of predictability.

Oh how I wish it could have been more funnier. As for Seth Rogen, I personally feel he plays himself all the time as the lazy, bummy, weed-smoking average Joe. If only he could have been more vulnerable in his role, as the writer for her campaign speeches, then I would have enjoyed it more. For this “LONGSHOT”, it gets only 2 and a half star recommendation.
